The Fell Pony Society and Conservancy of the
Americas
is a registered Overseas Branch of the Fell Pony Society in England,
the mother registry for the Fell pony breed.
Who we are - We have a lot in
common with the
Fell pony breed itself. These ponies may not be the
biggest or the flashiest around, but Fells are nevertheless tough and
versatile. They have the ability to thrive in harsh environments and
excel at a multitude of disciplines. Similarly, Fell Conservancy
members have a tenacious passion for the breed. Coupled with their wide
array of talents, our members freely contribute for the good of the
Fell
pony breed and the Fell pony community at large.
What we are – Public
Conservation Charity
The Fell Pony Society and Conservancy of the Americas was the first
Fell organization created in North America. It was originally formed in
1999 as the Fell Pony Conservancy and included all the known breeders
at the time and 95% of the known owners. The Conservancy was
restructured and incorporated under an expanded name in 2004. We are a
501(c)(3) charity EIN# 20 1008016 .
What we do –
The Conservancy has always been a leader in Fell pony promotion and
conservation in the Americas for the USA and Canada. Today the Fell
Conservancy continues to emphasize conservation and education under the
high standards of leadership it has always believed in.
How we operate – The
Conservancy operates solely
on donations and the generosity
of its volunteers and members, who provide a core staff, board, and
external
advisory consultants.
Why we are here – We are here
to provide accurate
and unbiased information to enthusiasts
seeking to learn more and to provide support to others sharing our
mission to conserve
this stout-hearted pony breed.
