Educational Development Committee

PURPOSE: To aid and facilitate the proper promotion and presentation of the Fell pony breed in accordance with the Fell Pony Society’s breed standards and judging guidelines by utilizing our British breed stewards and scholars as consultants.

The committee’s purpose is accomplished in a variety of ways, such as:
1. providing, or assisting in, articles and proper photos for the media
2. assistance/consultation for breed books and photos
3. breed script assistance
4. development of literature and promotional materials for venues

Two of our recent articles were titled “The Fell pony – Conservation in the 21st century” and “The Fell pony - a Pony with a Purpose”. These, and other past endeavors, can be found on http://www.Fellpony.com.

The Conservancy’s Educational Development Committee developed out of the FPS 'Fell Pony Educational and Promotional Program' program which was created by Laura Hart during the time she served for the FPS as Liaison to NA. The Conservancy continues on with the same firm commitment to understanding “the ponies of the Lake District, who have worked and travelled through history and whose breed has been known for over a century as ‘the Fell’……and who were ‘always there’.”
